Harj has played a key role in Pickerings’ Commercial Property team since joining in our firm in 2018. He has gained a wealth of experience in dealing with complex, high-value property transactions since qualifying in 2002 and cultivated a substantial and loyal client following. His expertise extends across the entire range of commercial property matters including sale and purchase, landlord and tenant lease renewals and new leases, development work, agricultural property, renewable energy, asset management and secured lending.

Harj has carved out a niche in aviation-related property and is expert in dealing with the practicalities and idiosyncrasies of airside property, whether hangar space, terminal offices or retail space. He acts on a regular basis for one of the world’s leading aircraft painting companies in the negotiation of hangar leases.

Harj’s expertise extends to development, where he has acted both for landowners and the acquiring developers in diverse transactions, including sales, purchases, options, conditional contracts, and overage agreements as well as the sale and purchase of agricultural land.

He has vast experience in planning and environmental issues including new build commercial estates comprising mixed-residential and commercial developments involving A3 and A5 planning uses. Prior to qualification as a solicitor, Harj also completed a Masters Degree in Environmental Law and Policy, giving him a wider perspective on planning, environmental and development issues. He has also advised on the sale of agricultural land for marina development

Harj specialises in transactions for pension funds, offering meticulous guidance and support. He regularly collaborates with other departments within the business and provides invaluable corporate support in company restructures, as well as share and asset purchases and sales.

Harj has significant experience in high-end residential sales and purchases on behalf of corporate clients and is committed to delivering professional and effective legal services. These properties tend to be high-value rural estates often with land, multiple buildings and with agricultural elements.
