The Old School House at Weeford recently played host to the local business community who saw Craig Davies, Head of Commercial Department of Pickerings Solicitors of Tamworth, take over the position as President of Lichfield & Tamworth division of the Southern Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Mike Castree, the outgoing President, who had been in post for two years said, “I am delighted to be handing over the role to Craig who is keen to ensure the Chamber continues to be the leading business organisation in the area offering, support, protection and opportunity to grow to the business community at large”.
Craig responded in his address “The Chamber is multi-faceted, and is owned by the Members who themselves are the business community. The organisation exists to assist businesses and I would encourage anyone involved in business to engage with the local Chamber of Commerce as I personally believe in the ethos of the Chamber and all it stands for.”
The guest speaker of the day was Colin Bryan, Group Managing Director of Drayton Manor who eloquently spoke of the history of his organisation from conception through to present day, sharing with the audience some of the secrets the business has engaged in to create the successful business model it now represents.
